Meet the team
Kara Stedman
Kara joined Arad as a researcher in 2021. Before joining Arad, she had six years’ experience of conducting desk-based research, surveys, interviews and quantitative and qualitative analysis. Kara has worked on various research projects for both the public and private sector, including projects for Business Wales, Save the Children, Qualifications Wales and many local authorities across the UK.
Kara has worked on a number of large-scale mixed methods research projects including consultations on inpatient mental health services for NHS commissioners in East Sussex and the Liverpool private renting scheme consultation. Part of Kara’s previous role was leading the data processing team which involved designing code frames and theming large amounts of data. Kara also previously worked for Swansea University where she undertook quantitative and qualitative research with students and academics to improve student experience. She has a Master’s degree in Social Science where she took modules in childhood studies and research methods with children and young people.
Kara is currently working on the the evaluation of the ESF Progress for Success training for the Welsh Government and the Evaluation of the Playworks Holiday Project 2021/22, undertaking and supporting on interviews with local authorities and providers. She is also supporting Early Years Wales carry out a sector pay and retention survey.
