The Welsh Government has commissioned Arad to undertake qualitative research to gather the views of families who access services delivered through the Flying Start programme. This longitudinal research will be undertaken in three waves between 2015 and 2017 with families from areas across Wales.
Flying Start provides targeted support to children and families in the most deprived areas of Wales in order to make a ‘decisive difference to the lives of children’ in the areas in which it is delivered. The programme forms part of a suite of Welsh Government policies that aim to provide integrated support to families. Flying Start is administered as a grant to local authorities to fund provision for children and their families within targeted areas. Provision delivered as part of the programme includes: Free, high quality, part-time childcare; Intensive health visiting support; Parenting support; and Support for Early Language Development.
