Sam McAlister-Wilson

Sam joined Arad as a researcher in 2022. Sam is finishing a PhD in Social Policy at Cardiff University and has an MSc in Social Science Research Methods and a BSc in International Relations. Sam’s research interests include education (particularly tertiary), inequalities and all aspects of social policy. Sam is skilled in qualitative and quantitative research methods and is particularly interested in creative methodologies and analysis.
Sam has worked on a range of research projects at Arad including two large pan-Wales evaluations for the Welsh Government (the Curriculum for Wales Evaluation and the Additional Learning Needs Evaluation), as well as scoping research into the Welsh Government’s ‘Baby Bundles’ scheme, and an evaluation of the Postgraduate Researcher Student Experience on behalf of HEFCW.
When not at Arad, Sam is a keen runner and hiker and spends as much time as possible outdoors keeping up with her three energetic children.
