  • (Welsh Government, 2018-19)

Arad and ICF are currently evaluating Farming Connect, which aims to raise productivity/profitability across the agriculture sector by supporting the application of academic knowledge across the sector. The programme provides a range of support mechanisms to support farmers to develop skills and apply new innovations. The evaluation will assess the programme’s performance against Rural Development Programme priorities and provide evidence on good practice, delivery and progress towards intended outcomes.

Learning from the current programme will help to inform the design of future interventions in a post-EU context.

  • (Urdd Gobaith Cymru, 2018)

The evaluation was driven by the need to develop oracy benchmarks and to support how Voice 21 assess their work and that of the schools they work with. A further focus for the evaluation was to establish the enabling conditions for oracy in schools, which would allow schools to assess progress themselves. It was also expected that evaluation findings would be transferable to other Voice 21 programmes and partnership working. The evaluation involved surveys and interviews with teachers and programme staff.

  • (Theatr Clwyd, 2018)

Arad is currently undertaking a study for Theatr Clwyd focusing on its economic impact on Flintshire and wider north east Wales through surveys of staff, suppliers and visitors. The study is also examining the organisation’s wider cultural and social impact through an assessment of its outreach programmes and quality of cultural offer.

  • (S4C, 2013)

Arad undertook an economic impact assessment of the production Y Gwyll / Hinterland on behalf of S4C. The study estimated the economic value of the production of the television series to the local economy of Aberystwyth using a multiplier approach. The methodology included surveys of cast and crew members as well as local businesses that supplied goods and services to the production.

  • (Creative Skillset Cymru, 2014-15)

Arad evaluated the Skills for the Digital Economy programme: a £4.5 million programme of research, training and support for the Creative Industries delivered between 2011 and 2015 (funded by the European Social Fund, Welsh Government, S4C and the trade association for Welsh TV producers). The evaluation methodology included surveys of course participants and creative industries employers as well as interviews with participants, employers, training providers and stakeholders. An economic impact study was undertaken to determine the contribution that the training and support had made to the economy.

  • (Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, 2017)

Arad undertook a feasibility study into the establishment of a food enterprise zone at the Glynllifon campus as a driver for the development and growth of the food and drink sector in north west Wales. This work was followed by a review of the feasibility and development of a business case to create a Rural Economy Hub at the Glynllifon campus, offering a range of facilities and services to strengthen and enhance the regional economy, specifically through growing the food and drink sector.
